giving thanks
In Plymouth the Pilgrims were helped by Squanto and Samoset, two Natives that helped them plant crops and trade. In 1621, the Pilgrims honored their first harvest with a feast that lasted three days. This feast was called Thanksgiving and the Pilgrims gave thanks for their harvest. They also enjoyed the feast with their new native friends. Through the winter more than half of the Pilgrims died, but there were still more settlers on their way.
