Starting jamestwon
English men left Jamestown for the same reasons Spanish men wanted to leave Spain too. The English men set out for land, gold, labor, and a better life. The Jamestown settlers had a hard time trying to find gold that they thought was in Virginia because they were not quite sure where it was. The English men wanted land so they could basically start a new life in a "New World." Could you imagine what it would be like to leave your home state? Would you risk owning land and getting wealthier just by leaving your home? The settlers wanted a better life because theirs might have been rough so they thought that this was their chance to turn those things around. But the real question about Jamestown is , How were they successful when they went through so much? Do you know the answer to that question?
